Collaborative Lesson Study
Collaborative Lesson Study creates a forum for authentic learning through rich teacher inquiry. Teachers conduct action research as they work together to identify a problem or focus, consider previous work, plan a lesson built on hypotheses of how students will respond, teach (and observe) the lesson, analyze the results, and determine implications. Through this process of collaborative inquiry, teachers build professional understanding that helps them respond to their students in ways that build students’ understanding.
Lesson Study provides new opportunities to listen to and learn from students. Teachers build habits of observation, inquiry, and analysis and increase knowledge of teaching strategies. This intellectual work will invigorate teachers and teaching.
Ongoing partnerships include synchronous and asynchronous virtual consultation and continued support visits.
