“How do I differentiate through PBL?” Teachers often ask this question as they see the possibilities of planning and implementing project-based learning units (PBL). Changing practice to PBL from traditional instruction can be liberating for its potential to meet the differentiated needs of all learners.
While it’s true that our students are indeed the future, there are real reasons why we need to remember that they are also a big part of our today and our teaching and learning should reflect that.
There appears to be a massive disconnect between the math students we want to create and the math students we are creating. There’s a dissonance between our purpose and our practice.
